Padel in Manchester: our guide

Updated October 2026

Heart Of Padel, 5 outdoor courts in Radcliffe

Manchester's padel courts start in the middle of town and spread out along the tram lines. As of October 2026 there are 33 venues with 137 courts within ten miles of the centre, from two-court sites a few minutes' walk from Exchange Square to a 17-court indoor club in east Manchester.

Indoor and outdoor are almost level: 66 courts are indoors and 67 outside, and more than half of the outdoor ones have a roof. In a city known for its rain, that roof counts for a lot. Most venues (27 of the 33) are pay and play, so a membership is optional nearly everywhere.

From Deansgate to the Pennine towns

City centre

Three venues are within a mile of the centre. The Pollen Club has two covered outdoor courts with panoramic glass, four minutes on foot from the Exchange Square tram stop. Club De Padel Manchester has four open-air courts three minutes from Deansgate station.

Club De Padel Manchester, 4 outdoor courts

Pure Padel (Manchester) is the biggest of the central group, with six indoor courts behind panoramic glass, six minutes' walk from Manchester Victoria. It opens from 6am to 10pm every day.

East Manchester

Heading east, Powerleague (Manchester Nicholls) has six covered outdoor courts near Ardwick station. Further out, Carbon Padel Club (Manchester) is the largest venue in the area, with 17 indoor courts and a singles court, eight minutes from Ashburys station.

South and west: Didsbury, Trafford City, Sale and Altrincham

Northern Lawn Tennis Club in West Didsbury has two covered outdoor courts, two minutes from the West Didsbury tram stop.

Trafford City has two venues. The Padel Club (Trafford City) has 11 covered outdoor courts and is pay and play; David Lloyd (Manchester Trafford City) has three outdoor courts for members.

Further south and west the courts sit at sports and country clubs: Mersey Valley Sports Club in Sale (two outdoor), Hale Country Club And Spa (two outdoor) and Dunham Forest Golf And Country Club (three outdoor), both near Altrincham. The Fuse in the M31 postcode area has three covered outdoor courts. Smash By Thg Studios near Altrincham has one indoor court, listed for private use.

Stockport, Cheadle and Handforth

Stockport has three venues. Life Leisure Grand Central has one outdoor court two minutes from Stockport station, and Life Leisure Houldsworth Village in Reddish has one indoor court and is listed as accessible. Soul Padel Stockport has six courts.

In Cheadle, Destination Padel (Cheadle) has three indoor courts open to anyone, while South Manchester Sports Club (seven covered outdoor) and David Lloyd (Cheadle) (two outdoor) are for members.

Handforth, right on the ten-mile edge, has two sites: The Padel Club Handforth Dean with five indoor courts and The Padel Club (Wilmslow) with four outdoor.

North and east: Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Bolton and Stalybridge

The towns to the north have a lot of indoor courts. Deuce Padel in Rochdale has nine indoor courts, a singles court and a café, and stays open until midnight. Just Padel (Bolton) has eight indoor courts with panoramic glass, and Powerleague (Bolton) has four covered outdoor courts.

Radcliffe has Heart Of Padel (five outdoor courts, panoramic glass, a café) and the one-court Padel Inn (Radcliffe). Oldham has Park Padel Sports Club with three indoor courts and Padel Inn (Oldham) with one. Bury has the single indoor court at Apex Padel Bury.

Stalybridge has two indoor venues close together: Stay Padel (four courts) and Glass Padel Club (two), both 11 minutes from Stalybridge station. Out west, Worsley Sports Club has four outdoor courts, and David Lloyd (Manchester North) in Middleton has four indoor courts for members.

Rain cover, roofs and open-air courts

If the forecast looks grim, you have plenty of choice. The 66 indoor courts include the big blocks at Carbon (17), Deuce (nine) and Just Padel (eight), plus Pure Padel's six in the centre.

Then there are the covered outdoor courts. At least 37 of the 67 outdoor courts have a roof, including all 11 at The Padel Club in Trafford City, seven at South Manchester Sports Club and six at Powerleague Nicholls. They keep the rain off, though they are still open to the air, so dress for the temperature in winter.

Fully open courts include Club De Padel's four in the city centre, Heart Of Padel's five in Radcliffe and the country club courts around Altrincham. Those are the ones to check before a wet booking.

What a court costs

We sampled prices at four venues on 4 October 2026. These are prices for a whole court per hour, split four ways if you play doubles, and peak and off-peak rates differ:

  • Deuce Padel, Rochdale: from £15 off-peak, up to £40 at peak.
  • Life Leisure Grand Central and Houldsworth Village, Stockport: from £24, up to £42 at peak.
  • Heart Of Padel, Radcliffe: from £38, up to £48 at peak.

The other venues publish their prices on their booking pages, so check there before you go.

Trams, trains and parking

A car is optional for most of Manchester's courts: 24 of the 33 venues are within a mile of a railway station or Metrolink stop.

The quickest walks are two minutes from West Didsbury tram stop to Northern Lawn and two minutes from Stockport station to Grand Central. Deansgate is three minutes from Club De Padel, Radcliffe tram stop three minutes from Padel Inn, and Ardwick four minutes from Powerleague Nicholls. Oldham King Street is six minutes from Park Padel.

Parking is almost universal: 32 of the 33 venues list it. The exception is The Pollen Club in the centre, where the tram is the easier option anyway.

Booking, coaching and finding players

Playtomic is the main booking app here, used by 21 venues. Besides booking a court, it lets you join open matches set up by other players at your level, which is handy if you are new to the area or short of a fourth. Northern Lawn takes bookings through Mindbody.

Fourteen venues offer coaching, and five list racket hire: The Pollen Club, Pure Padel, Houldsworth Village, Glass Padel Club and Deuce Padel. The three David Lloyd clubs and South Manchester Sports Club are for members, and Smash By Thg Studios is private, so check access before you plan around them.

If you are new to it, our guide on how to book a padel court in the UK explains how booking works. For partners, see ways to find people to play with, and if you want a coach, what padel lessons involve.

On the way

Our tracker lists Padel Inn in Radcliffe as opening soon with one indoor court. A Padel Inn (Radcliffe) venue already appears in the list above, so it may be taking bookings by the time you read this.
