Updated October 2026
Warrington sits halfway between Liverpool and Manchester, and its padel courts are spread out to match. Within eight miles of the town centre, as of October 2026, we list seven venues with 19 courts: eight indoor and 11 outdoor.
That is a modest count for a town this size, and some of it is members only. The pay-and-play options are mostly at the edges, in Widnes, out towards Irlam and down near Northwich, with one in Warrington itself. Two new Soul Padel projects in Birchwood should change the picture.
Two of the three venues in town are for members. David Lloyd (Warrington) has three indoor courts with coaching, and Grappenhall Sports Club has two outdoor courts, booked through MATCHi.
The pay-and-play choice in town is True Fit Golf Centre in WA5, with two outdoor courts.
Across in Widnes, about five miles west, Velocity Padel (Widnes) has five indoor courts, the most of any venue in the area, with coaching and Playtomic booking. Widnes Tennis Club has two outdoor courts; it is listed as a sports club, so check whether non-members can book.
On the Manchester side, The Fuse in the M31 postcode area has three covered outdoor courts and is pay and play. To the south, Barnton Cricket Club near Northwich has two outdoor courts, also pay and play, right on the eight-mile edge.
All eight indoor courts are at two venues: Velocity Padel's five in Widnes, which anyone can book, and David Lloyd's three, which need a membership. For a guaranteed dry game without joining a club, Widnes is the place to look.
The only outdoor courts with a roof are the three at The Fuse. The rest, at True Fit, Grappenhall, Widnes Tennis Club and Barnton, are open to the weather, so expect the odd rained-off evening in winter.
None of the venues here had prices in our sample. Most publish their rates on their booking page or website, and peak and off-peak usually differ, so check there before you book.
Warrington's courts are mostly a drive. Only two venues are within a mile of a station: Widnes Tennis Club, 13 minutes on foot from Widnes station, and David Lloyd, 18 minutes from Warrington West.
For the rest, the walk from the nearest station takes between 34 and 52 minutes. Every venue has parking, so the car is the realistic option for most games.
Booking is split across systems. Velocity Padel and Widnes Tennis Club use Playtomic, where you can join open matches set up by other players at your level as well as book a court. Grappenhall uses MATCHi. The rest have no booking app listed with us, so go to their own websites.
Coaching is listed at Velocity Padel and David Lloyd. None of the venues list racket hire, so bring a racket or ask the club before you go.
If the apps are new to you, our guide to booking a padel court in the UK explains how they work. We also have suggestions for finding people to play with and a look at what lessons involve.
Our tracker has two Soul Padel entries in Birchwood, on the east side of Warrington. Soul Padel Birchwood is listed as under construction with three indoor courts, expected late 2026. Soul Padel Warrington is listed as opening soon with three outdoor courts. The two entries may turn out to be the same project, so treat the details as provisional until bookings open.
Bolton is 15 miles away, Manchester and Liverpool both 16, Stockport 18 and Chester 19.
Further away are Blackburn (25 miles), Preston (26) and Stoke-on-Trent (31).
We update the list above as venues open and change, so the Birchwood courts will appear there once they take bookings. With no racket hire listed nearby, our guide to choosing a padel racket may help before your first game.
Padel Relay lists 7 venues in and around Warrington with at least 19 known courts, 8 of them indoor. New venues open often, so tell us if one is missing.
4 venues are listed as pay and play, open to the public without membership, including True Fit Golf Centre, Velocity Padel (Widnes), The Fuse, Barnton Cricket Club. You may still need a free booking account.
