Padel in Bristol: our guide

Updated October 2026

Bristol does its padel mostly under a roof. Of the 45 courts across our eight listed venues, 35 are indoor, and the two biggest sites, both within a 20-minute walk of Lawrence Hill station, hold 21 of them.

The figures here are as of October 2026 and cover venues within nine miles of the centre. Beyond the east side, the courts spread north through Redland, Lockleaze and Filton and out to the north-eastern edge at Emersons Green, with two more venues in the pipeline.

East of the centre, then north to Filton

Lawrence Hill and the east

Rocket Padel is the largest venue in Bristol, with 14 indoor courts in BS4. It has panoramic glass courts, a singles court, racket hire and coaching, and it books through Padel Mates.

Closer in, The Padel Team has seven indoor courts in BS5, six minutes' walk from Lawrence Hill station. It books on Playtomic and offers coaching, with parking and changing rooms.

Redland and Lockleaze

Redland Green Club has two outdoor courts that non-members can book on ClubSpark, plus coaching. It's the nearest outdoor option to the centre.

A little further north, Lockleaze Sports Centre has four covered outdoor courts, open 8.30am to 10pm every day, with parking and changing.

Filton and the north

S3 Padel in Filton has six indoor courts with panoramic glass and the longest hours in our Bristol list: 6am to midnight, seven days a week. It books on Playtomic and lists racket hire, a café and accessible facilities.

Out in BS10, David Lloyd Bristol Westbury has two outdoor courts for registered members, with coaching.

The north-east

Surge Padel in BS16 has eight indoor courts on Playtomic, with panoramic glass, racket hire and coaching. Further out, David Lloyd Bristol Emersons Green has two covered courts for members.

Plenty of shelter for wet days

With 35 indoor courts at four venues (Rocket Padel, Surge, The Padel Team and S3), a rained-off evening is rarely a problem in Bristol. Those four are also all pay and play, so you don't need a membership to get under cover.

Of the ten outdoor courts, six have a canopy: the four at Lockleaze and the two at David Lloyd Emersons Green. That leaves Redland Green and David Lloyd Westbury as the only fully open courts, two each. Check the forecast before booking those two in winter.

What a court costs

We have one sampled price so far. At S3 Padel in Filton, a court cost from £15 an hour at the cheapest time up to £40 an hour at peak, checked on 4 October 2026. That's per court, so split between four players it comes to roughly £3.75 to £10 each.

Other venues publish their prices on their booking pages in Playtomic, Padel Mates or ClubSpark. As at S3, expect evenings and weekends to cost noticeably more than weekday daytime slots. The two David Lloyd clubs sit behind a membership.

Getting there by train or car

Bristol's local Severn Beach line helps here. Lawrence Hill, on that line, is six minutes' walk from The Padel Team and about 20 minutes from Rocket Padel. Redland, on the same line, is 13 minutes from Redland Green Club.

In the north, Filton Abbey Wood serves two venues: S3 Padel is 14 minutes' walk away and Lockleaze Sports Centre 15 minutes. Surge Padel is a longer 37 minutes from Stapleton Road, so for most people that one is a drive.

Every venue in our Bristol list has parking, which makes the car the simplest choice for the outer sites, especially the two David Lloyd clubs.

Finding a game

Playtomic is the main booking app here, used by The Padel Team, Surge and S3. Rocket Padel uses Padel Mates and Redland Green uses ClubSpark. If you're new to booking, our guide to booking a court in the UK explains how the apps work.

Both Playtomic and Padel Mates have open matches, where you join a game at your level that's missing a player or two. That's the quickest route in without a regular four, and we cover more ways to find people in finding padel partners.

Six of the eight venues list coaching, and three (Rocket Padel, Surge and S3) list racket hire, so you can turn up for a first game without buying kit. For what a beginner session looks like, see our look at padel lessons.

New courts on the way

Two more venues are listed as opening soon. S3 Padel Bristol Brabazon in Patchway, about five miles out, plans nine outdoor courts. It was due in summer 2026 and is still showing as coming soon.

Pulse Padel Bristol at Failand, about four miles out, plans five indoor courts with an expected opening in late 2026. Our courts opening soon page tracks both.
