Padel in Middlesbrough: our guide

Updated October 2026

Padel Up (Teesside), 8 indoor courts in Stockton-On-Tees

Every padel court around Middlesbrough has a roof over it. Most UK areas have a few open-air courts somewhere in the mix, so on the North Sea coast in January this is good news.

As of October 2026 we list 10 venues with 35 courts within nine miles of Middlesbrough, spread on both sides of the Tees from Hartlepool down to Guisborough. Twenty-five courts are indoor, the other 10 are covered outdoor courts, and seven of the 10 venues are pay and play.

Both banks of the Tees

Middlesbrough and Eston

In Middlesbrough itself, Tennis World in TS4 has two covered outdoor courts with coaching, 12 minutes on foot from Marton station. East of the town, Vida Del Padel (Eston) has five indoor courts with panoramic glass, a singles court and coaching.

Stockton, Thornaby and Ingleby Barwick

The largest venue is in Stockton: Padel Up (Teesside) has eight indoor courts behind panoramic glass, a singles court, racket hire and a café, and opens from 6am to 11pm every day. Nearby in TS18, Soccer Sensations Teesside has one covered outdoor court.

Two clubs south of the river are for members: David Lloyd (Teesside) in Thornaby, with five covered outdoor courts and coaching, and Bannatyne Health Club (Ingleby Barwick), with two.

Hartlepool

Up the coast, Hartlepool has two indoor venues with three courts each. Padel At The Toolroom is pay and play, 16 minutes from Seaton Carew station. Vida Del Padel (Hartlepool) is for members, with panoramic glass, a singles court and coaching.

Sedgefield and Guisborough

Towards the edge of the radius, Rural Racquets (Sedgefield) has four indoor courts, including a singles court, with coaching. To the south-east, Vida Del Padel (Guisborough) has two indoor courts with panoramic glass and coaching.

Covered, every one

None of the 35 courts is fully open. The 25 indoor courts are spread across six venues, led by Padel Up's eight and Vida Del Padel's five at Eston.

The 10 outdoor courts, at David Lloyd, Tennis World, Bannatyne and Soccer Sensations, all have roofs. Rain will not stop play there, but they are open at the sides, so dress for the cold from November onwards.

Four venues also have a singles court: Padel Up, Rural Racquets and the Vida Del Padel sites at Eston and Hartlepool. They are the ones to book when there are only two of you.

Prices

Our sample has one venue. On 4 October 2026 a court at Padel Up cost from £20 an hour off-peak to £40 at peak. That is for the court, so in doubles each player pays a quarter: £5 to £10.

The other venues publish their prices on their booking pages, and each sets its own peak and off-peak rates.

Getting there

Four venues are within a mile of a station: Tennis World (12 minutes from Marton), David Lloyd (16 minutes from Thornaby), Padel At The Toolroom (16 minutes from Seaton Carew) and Vida Del Padel Hartlepool (18 minutes, also from Seaton Carew).

The others are best reached by car. Padel Up is a 34-minute walk from Eaglescliffe, and the Sedgefield and Guisborough sites are a long way from any station. All 10 venues have parking.

Finding a game

Six venues book through Playtomic, including Padel Up, Tennis World and the three Vida Del Padel sites. You can use it to join open matches set up by players at your level, not only to book a court.

Coaching is listed at six venues, among them all three Vida Del Padel clubs, Rural Racquets and Tennis World. Padel Up is the only one listing racket hire.

Our guide to booking a padel court in the UK explains how the apps work. We have also written about finding padel partners and getting started with lessons.

Nearby

The nearest other area we cover is Newcastle, 31 miles north.

We update the list above as venues open, add courts or change their booking set-up. If you are heading for one of the singles courts, the guide to padel rules and scoring covers the basics that apply to both formats.
