Padel in Bournemouth: our guide
Updated October 2026
Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch run into one another along the Dorset coast, and the padel courts are shared out between them. Bournemouth itself has just one venue, a members' club. The bigger indoor centres are in Poole to the west and on the Mudeford side of Christchurch to the east.
As of October 2026 there are eight venues with 28 courts within nine miles of Bournemouth. More than half the courts (16) are indoors, and all of those are at three pay and play centres.
Poole, Bournemouth and the Christchurch side
Bournemouth
West Hants Club in BH3, a little over a mile from the centre, has three outdoor courts for members.
Poole
Poole has three venues. East Dorset Lawn Tennis And Croquet Club in Parkstone has three outdoor courts for members, seven minutes from Parkstone station.
Further north, in BH17, two venues share an area. Cross Court Padel Club has six indoor courts, is pay and play and offers coaching. David Lloyd (Poole) has two outdoor courts for members.
Christchurch and Mudeford
Advantage Padel (Mudeford) is the largest venue in the area, with eight indoor courts, open from 6am to 10pm every day. It is pay and play, has coaching, and is the only venue here that lists racket hire.
At the same distance from Bournemouth, Picklepad By Smeda Sport has two indoor courts, also pay and play.
Ferndown and Ringwood
Inland, Ferndown Forest Golf Club has two outdoor courts that anyone can book, with coaching. At the nine-mile edge, David Lloyd (Ringwood) has two outdoor courts for members.
Indoor for pay and play, outdoor for members
There is a clear split here. All 16 indoor courts are at the three pay and play centres: Advantage Padel (eight), Cross Court (six) and Picklepad (two). If the wind is coming off the sea, those are the places to book.
The 12 outdoor courts are all uncovered. Ten of them are at membership clubs, and the only open-air courts you can book without joining are the two at Ferndown Forest.
Prices
We did not find a published price to sample at any venue in October 2026. Advantage Padel lists its courts on Padel Mates and Picklepad on Playtomic, where the rate shows when you pick a slot. Cross Court and Ferndown Forest take bookings directly, so ask them. Peak and off-peak prices usually differ.
Getting there
East Dorset is the only venue within a short walk of a station, seven minutes from Parkstone on the line through Poole and Bournemouth. The two Mudeford venues are about 35 minutes on foot from Hinton Admiral, and Cross Court about half an hour from Hamworthy.
For the rest, drive. All eight venues list parking.
Booking and finding a game
Booking apps are split here. Advantage Padel uses Padel Mates, and Picklepad and East Dorset use Playtomic. Both apps let you book a court and join open matches set up by other players, so you can find a game when you are short of a fourth.
Five venues offer coaching: Cross Court, Advantage Padel, Ferndown Forest and the two David Lloyd clubs. Advantage Padel is the one to try if you need to hire a racket. Our guides cover how to book a padel court in the UK, finding padel partners and padel lessons.
Further afield
The nearest other city guide is Southampton, 24 miles east through the New Forest.
The list above is kept up to date as courts open and venues change how they take bookings, so use it for the latest details. Before a first game, our guide to playing off the glass is useful reading, since the walls are what make padel different.
