Padel in Basingstoke: our guide

Updated October 2026

Basingstoke's padel is small and easy to take in. As of October 2026 we list six venues with 11 courts within eight miles of the town, and only two of them are open to anyone without a membership.

Seven courts are outdoors and four indoors. One venue sits right by the railway station; the rest are out in the north Hampshire countryside, at health clubs, a tennis centre and rural sites in the villages.

Next to the station

Padel People (Basingstoke) is the only venue in the town centre. It has three open-air courts plus a singles court, is pay and play, and opens from 6am to 10pm every day. Coaching is available.

West of town

Two membership venues sit on the western side. Bannatyne Health Club (Beechdown Park) has two outdoor courts, and Manydown Tennis Centre has one covered outdoor court. Both offer coaching.

Farleigh Wallop, Hook and Stratfield Saye

South of the town, Punk Padel (Grammarsham Barn) at Farleigh Wallop has a single indoor court and is pay and play. It lists no changing rooms.

To the east near Hook, Barnsgrove has two indoor courts for members. Furthest out, at Stratfield Saye towards Reading, The Barns At Wellington has one indoor and one outdoor court, also for members.

Indoor courts are few

Four indoor courts across three venues is not much cover. If you do not have a membership, Punk Padel's single court is the only indoor option that is pay and play, so book ahead for wet evenings. Barnsgrove has two and The Barns At Wellington one, both for members.

Manydown's covered court keeps the rain off. Everything else, including Padel People's three courts in the centre, is open to the weather.

Prices

None of the venues here had a price we could sample in October 2026. Padel People shows its rates on Playtomic, and the membership clubs set their own fees, so ask them directly.

Getting there

Padel People is three minutes' walk from Basingstoke station, which has direct trains to London Waterloo. It does not list parking, so the train or a town centre car park is the way in.

Every other venue lists parking and is a long walk from any station, so plan to drive.

Booking, coaching and finding a four

Padel People and Barnsgrove use Playtomic, where you can book and also join open matches set up by other players. Manydown uses MATCHi. Three venues offer coaching: Padel People, Bannatyne and Manydown. None lists racket hire, so bring your own or ask before you go.

Our guide on how to book a padel court in the UK explains the apps. For partners, see ways to find people to play with, and for coaching, what padel lessons involve.

Further afield

Reading is the nearest city guide, 14 miles north. Southampton is 29 miles south and Swindon 36 miles north-west.

The list above is kept up to date as venues open or add courts, so check it before you book. If you need a racket of your own, the guide to choosing a padel racket covers shape, weight and balance.
