Padel in London: our guide

Updated October 2026

David Lloyd (Hampton), 6 outdoor courts in Twickenham

Padel in Greater London is one very large centre with a long, thin ring of suburbs around it. As of October 2026 we list 74 venues inside the London boundary, with 267 courts between them. Only 84 of those courts are indoors and 183 are outdoor, so a little under a third of the capital's padel is fully under cover.

The spread is lopsided. 41 of the 74 venues, and 161 of the courts, carry a plain London address. The other 33 venues are scattered across 29 outer towns and suburbs: Ilford and Romford in the east, Greenford, Southall and Hounslow in the west, Bromley, Sutton and Purley in the south. Most of those places have a single venue.

48 venues are pay and play, so anyone can book, and 42 take bookings online. The rest are members' clubs or ask you to get in touch first.

The London postcodes, then the outer ring

The venues with a London address are where the numbers are. Those 41 sites hold 64 of the region's 84 indoor courts. Our London guide goes through them district by district, with stations, prices and opening hours. It works on a 14 mile radius from the centre, so it counts 79 venues and 290 courts, slightly more than the boundary figures here.

East of the centre, Ilford is the one outer town that matches the big London venues, with 12 courts at a single site, all of them indoors. Romford has eight outdoor courts across two venues, Hornchurch adds three indoor courts, and Woodford Green has three.

The west has Greenford, with nine courts at two venues (four of them indoors), then Southall, Wembley, Hounslow, Feltham and a single court in West Ealing. Further out, Northwood and Edgware have three courts each.

The south east is a run of small, open-air venues. Bromley has six courts across three venues, Chislehurst, Eltham and Bexley have four each, Beckenham two and Sidcup one.

The south west follows the Thames suburbs. Twickenham has six courts, Wimbledon and Surbiton five each, Sutton four, and Wallington and Purley three each. Tolworth, Kingston upon Thames and Summerstown have one court apiece.

On the north-west edge, Northwood, Edgware and Barnet also fall inside the area of our Watford guide, which is the one to read if you live out towards Hertfordshire.

The biggest venues

These are the twelve largest venues in Greater London by court count:

Grassroots Padel, 5 outdoor courts in Wimbledon

Two of the twelve are David Lloyd clubs, so you need a membership to play there. The other ten take bookings from anyone.

The east of that list is mostly indoor: Ilford, Canary Wharf and Stratford have 27 indoor courts between them. The west and south west go the other way, with Chiswick, Vauxhall, Wandsworth, Hampton and Wimbledon all outdoors.

Suburbs with real court numbers

Living in outer London doesn't mean travelling into the centre for a venue with several courts. Ilford's 12 indoor courts make it the largest single venue outside the London postcodes.

After that, Greenford (nine courts), Romford (eight) and Bromley (six) are the biggest outer clusters. Twickenham's six courts are all at the members' David Lloyd, so if you want to pay and play in that corner, Wimbledon's Grassroots Padel is pay and play, and the list above shows the access for the venues in Surbiton and Kingston.

Plenty of suburbs have just one venue. That works for a regular game with friends, but it narrows your options if your usual slot is taken, so know the next town along. Chislehurst, Eltham, Bexley and Sidcup sit close together in the south east, as do Sutton, Wallington and Purley in the south.

Indoor courts and London winters

Of London's 267 courts, 84 are indoors. The London-addressed venues hold 64 of them and Ilford 12. The rest are thinly spread: four in Greenford, three in Hornchurch and one in Summerstown.

Elsewhere, outer London padel is almost all outdoor. Romford, Bromley, Twickenham, Wimbledon, Surbiton, Sutton and most of the smaller suburbs list no indoor courts. Some outdoor courts have a roof, which keeps the rain off, but they are open at the sides and you will feel the cold in winter.

If you want a dry, warm game between November and March, the indoor venues in the east (Ilford, Stratford, Canary Wharf), Racketeer, The 108 and Padelhub N20 are the places to start. Book ahead in wet weeks.

The full list of all 74 venues, in alphabetical order, is above, with courts, access and booking links for each one. If you have not booked a court before, our guide to booking a padel court in the UK explains the apps, peak and off-peak pricing and what to bring.
