Padel in Wales: our guide
Updated October 2026
Wales has 18 padel venues and 59 courts on our map as of October 2026, across 13 towns. Two thirds of those courts (40) are indoors, a higher share than in England or Scotland, so a wet evening rarely rules out a game if you live near one of the main sites.
The map has two ends and very little in between. Most venues line the M4 corridor in the south, from Cwmbran and Cardiff west to Swansea, and a second, smaller group runs along the north coast from Bangor to Prestatyn, with Wrexham inland. We don't list any courts in mid Wales yet.
The LTA is the national governing body for padel across Great Britain, Wales included, and it runs the padel rankings Welsh players enter. Our guide to padel in the UK covers the bigger picture.
South Wales and the north coast
Cardiff and the Vale
Cardiff has the largest cluster, with five venues and 19 courts on its page. Four of those venues carry a Cardiff address, and eight of their 19 courts are indoors. Our Cardiff guide goes through each one. Penarth, just south of the city, has one listing that doesn't yet show a court count.
Rhondda Cynon Taf and Bridgend
West of Cardiff the courts are spread across smaller towns. Llantrisant has four indoor courts and Pontyclun, next door, has two more. Further west in Bridgend county, Coychurch and Porthcawl each have two outdoor courts.
Swansea and Port Talbot
Swansea has three venues and 13 courts within its area, and Jaxx Padel alone holds all 13 of the courts with a Swansea address, nine of them indoors. Port Talbot has one listing without a court count yet.
North Wales
The north coast has fewer venues but some of the larger ones. Bangor has eight indoor courts at a single venue, listed under Gwynedd, and Prestatyn has six indoor courts. Wrexham has two venues with three indoor courts between them, and Caernarfon has one listing still to confirm its courts.
Getting between them takes some planning. The northern venues are spread along the A55, so Bangor and Prestatyn serve quite different catchments, and there is nothing listed between the two coasts. In the south, Cardiff gives you the most venues to choose from, while Swansea's courts are all at one site, so if Jaxx Padel is full the next nearest courts are in Bridgend county.
The largest venues
These are the biggest Welsh venues by court count. All but one are pay and play.
- Jaxx Padel, Swansea: 13 courts, nine indoor and four outdoor, the most in Wales.
- Padium Cardiff: eight indoor courts.
- S3 Padel Bangor: eight indoor courts.
- Smash Padel Cardiff: six outdoor courts.
- Court De Padel Prestatyn: six indoor courts.
- David Lloyd Cardiff: five outdoor courts, for members.
- Unbound Padel, Llantrisant: four indoor courts.
- Padel Point Wrexham: three indoor courts.
- Porthcawl Padel: two outdoor courts.
- Padel at the Coed, Coychurch: two outdoor courts.
- Pontyclun Padel: two indoor courts.
Those eleven venues hold all 59 courts we know of in Wales. The other seven listings don't show a court count yet.
Towns beyond the cities
Only Cardiff and Swansea have city pages, so most of Wales is covered by town listings. The ones with the most courts are Bangor (eight, all indoors), Prestatyn (six, all indoors) and Llantrisant (four, all indoors).
For north-east Wales, Chester sits just over the border and has its own area page. In the south, Cwmbran, Penarth and Port Talbot each have a listing, but none shows a court count yet, so open the venue page or contact them before you travel.
Indoor courts and winter
With 40 of 59 courts indoors, most Welsh padel carries on through the winter regardless of the weather. In the north it is indoor only: every court we list in Bangor, Prestatyn and Wrexham is inside.
All 19 outdoor courts are in the south, at Smash Padel and David Lloyd in Cardiff, at Jaxx Padel's four outdoor courts in Swansea, and in Porthcawl and Coychurch. If the forecast looks poor, the indoor courts in Cardiff, Swansea, Llantrisant and Pontyclun are the ones to check first.
New courts on the way
S3 Padel Bangor gave late summer 2026 for its eight indoor courts and now appears in the list above, so check its page for booking details. Just across the border, The Padel Club Chester opened on 2 October 2026 with eight indoor courts. Our courts opening soon page has the latest on both.
Every Welsh venue we know of is in the list above, in alphabetical order and kept up to date as courts open or change how they take bookings. When you've found one, how to book a padel court in the UK explains the apps, prices and what to check first.
