Padel in Scotland: our guide

Updated October 2026

Padel in Scotland is still a small map. As of October 2026 we list 38 venues with 67 courts between them, across 21 towns. Just over half of the courts (36) are indoors, and that counts for a lot once the nights draw in.

Most of it sits in the Central Belt. Glasgow and the towns around it hold the largest group, Edinburgh has the most venues of any single town, and outside those two there are a few sites in Perthshire, on the Ayrshire coast, in Fife, the Borders, Dundee and Aberdeen.

The LTA is the national governing body for padel across Great Britain, Scotland included, and it runs the padel rankings that Scottish players enter. Our guide to padel in the UK has the wider picture.

Glasgow, Edinburgh and the rest of the map

Glasgow and the west

The Glasgow page covers 13 venues and 36 courts, more than half the courts in Scotland. Six venues carry a Glasgow address, with 15 courts, and 13 of those courts are indoors. Our Glasgow guide goes through them one by one.

The towns around the city add a lot. Renfrew has two venues with eight courts, East Kilbride has five indoor courts at one venue, Paisley has four and Clydebank three. Milngavie, north of the city, has a single indoor court.

Edinburgh and the east

Edinburgh has ten venues with an Edinburgh address, the most of any Scottish town, but only 15 courts between them, and none of those is listed as indoor. Two venues hold most of them: a five-court members' club and a four-court pay and play site. The other eight share six courts, and our Edinburgh guide covers each of them.

Aberdeen and the north east

Aberdeen has three venues listed, with two courts known between them, neither of them indoors. It's the thinnest of the city pages, so check each venue's own page for the latest.

Where to start

If you live between the two big cities, the choice mostly comes down to roof or no roof. The west has more indoor courts and the larger pay and play sites; Edinburgh has more venues to pick from, but every court with an Edinburgh address is outdoors. Either way, the city pages list every venue within reach.

The largest venues

No venue in Scotland has more than six courts, so the biggest sites here are modest by English standards. These are the twelve largest:

Access is worth checking here. Only 16 of the 38 venues are listed as pay and play, and the list includes members' clubs and a private sporting club, so look at each venue's page before you set off.

Towns beyond the cities

Ayr, on the Ayrshire coast, has four indoor courts at a single venue, which makes it the largest indoor option outside the Glasgow area. In Perthshire, Crieff has three indoor courts and Auchterarder has three more at Gleneagles, though those are private.

Further east, Dundee has two indoor courts and St Andrews has one outdoor court. Kelso, in the Borders, has a single indoor court, the only one we list in that part of the country.

A few listings in Stirling, Kilmarnock, Kirknewton, Fife, Ayrshire and West Lothian don't yet show a court count, so they add venues to the total but no courts. Open their pages to see what each one offers, or contact the venue before you travel.

Indoor courts and Scottish winters

Of the 67 courts, 36 are indoors and 31 are outside. The split is uneven. Glasgow's own addresses are mostly indoor, while every court with an Edinburgh address is listed as outdoor.

That makes a big difference from October to March, when daylight is short and the weather is unsettled. If you're in Edinburgh and want a game you can count on in winter, the indoor courts in Glasgow, East Kilbride or Ayr may be the nearest dependable option. Check the venue pages for opening hours and whether outdoor courts have lights before you book an evening slot.

Every Scottish venue we know of is in the list above, in alphabetical order and kept up to date as courts open or change how they take bookings. When you've found one, how to book a padel court in the UK covers the apps, prices and what to check first.
